Craigslist.com

If you know me, you know how much I love craigslist.com. My husband always says "If there were craigslist gift cards, I'd know just what to get you for your birthday." I get such a kick out of finding a deal-- whether I need that extra piece of furniture or not. (I'll come back to this in a bit..)

So last weekend Matt and I did a little transformation at our house. We moved our bedroom into the studio behind our house-- much bigger than the front house bedroom-- and turned the old bedroom into a guest room. I was impressed with how much we got done in just two days: took apart the queen bed and posted it on craigslist (anybody lookin for a nice queen bed frame and matching side table?), rearranged the dresser in the front room, moved the twin bed into the front room (after re-painting it to match the dresser), painted the studio, put up new curtains, set up the new full-size bed (yes, we downsized), painted the nightstands and moved them into the studio, replaced the 1970's style ceiling lights for sleek new 2008-ish globes with a dimmer switch (I know, good job Matt!)..

All we were missing was a dresser..

So here's where craigslist.com comes back into the story. I was browsing the furniture section-- yes, that's what I do in my free time-- and came across a post titled "Bed and dresser $60." I clicked just to see the picture, not expecting much, but to my surprise it was exactly what we were looking for! A 9 drawer dresser, just under 6 feet long, and the bed happened to be a full. It was a little scratched up, but when I see a piece of furniture I see a project that usually includes a sander and a couple coats of paint. I showed Matt, he told me to call about it, and we picked it all up this morning before church.

So to make a long story short-- oh wait, I guess it's too late for that.. Anyway, here's some pictures of the bed & dresser process.
