GIRL!

Can you believe it? I had myself so convinced that it was a boy, when I cut into that cake I was honestly expecting to see blue. The pink was such a shock, and so gosh darn exciting! Matt and I were pretty much wanting a boy, but this little girl has got us wrapped around her tiny finger already. She doesn't even have a name yet and she's breaking my heart. This is love.

Take a peek at this video my mom caught of the cake cutting. Yes, that is her screaming. Knowing my mom, I'm sure she is embarrassed that her's is the loudest scream on the video, but that right there is my favorite part of all. She has two grandsons and was also convinced that this little one was going to be another boy. I can just hear the utter shock and total excitement in her voice and it makes me so happy.




This whirlwind of a trip to Visalia was so much fun. I am constantly reminded of how blessed Matt and I are to have the family and friends that we do. Having those people there to celebrate this new little being was amazing. The support and love we have received throughout our entire relationship, and each of our lives, is priceless.

Once we made it home and settled down, Matt handed me a little white box. He said he wanted me to open it now that we were alone. Inside was a tiny necklace with the words "Our family just grew by two feet" engraved around two baby feet. Could he get any sweeter? I wore it today and every time I felt it move around my neck I was reminded of how lucky I am to have married my best friend.. and I couldn't be more proud to watch him turn into a daddy.
