So I saw this awesome idea for an alphabet book from some random mommy-photographer-blogger-superwoman website. She took pictures of her daughter with something that pertained to each letter of the alphabet. For example, she had her daughter sitting in a bucket of apples for the letter A, holding a ball for the letter B, petting a cat for C, etc.. Then after a month or so of alphabet photo shoots, she made a book of all the pictures for her daughter!
I'm going to make an alphabet book for Paige.
There.
I've said it on my blog.
That means it has to happen.
I'm not promising that it'll be done in a month, but my goal is to have it done by June for her first birthday. That gives me almost 4 months.. I can handle that! Since Paige wakes up from naps now and immediately starts pointing at her picture on the wall saying "buh-buh" (that's "baby" in 8 month old language), I figure she has to love a book full of her own pictures, right? If not, well.. I will love it and keep it forever. So there, it's a win-win situation.
Guess what.. I've already completed the letter A! And I need some help with the font.. I have a few different options that I like, I just can't settle on one. So please please please give me your opinions! I know I want to use the same font throughout the entire book-- because picking a different font for each letter is just plain crazy when I can't even decide on the first one.
I'm labeling them with numbers instead of the font name, because to be honest, I'm definitely leaning toward certain fonts just because the name of it is adorable or too stinking perfect (one font is named "Patient Paige".. really!? I'm not telling you which one). I can't let you be swayed! Maybe you wouldn't be.. maybe I'm the only nerd who is easily persuaded by font names.. I'm ok with that.
So tell me, which one is your favorite?
(1)
(2)
(3)
(4)
(5)
Since I know I can't get away with posting a picture of an apple,
here's the little one.. with apples.
I LOVE this idea!!!! Can't wait to see the finished product! Of course you'll need to have copies of the book at our house and Grandma Kissy and Grandpa Steve's so she can read them there too. (We might even look at it a time or two when she's not there!)
ReplyDeleteAs far as the font, I think I like #5. It reminds me of the Dick and Jane books I used to read in Kindergarten.
But I also think you would be happy with any of them as they are all adorable.
Cute idea Jenna! I like fonts 1, 4 and 5 because they are most easily legible/bold. But if the book wasn't for Paige, I like #2!
ReplyDeletemy vote is #3 or#5:) Cute idea by the way!! I may have to borrow it and have Jen make Laney an alphabet book:)
ReplyDelete#3... Love the idea and also might steal it from you!
ReplyDelete1 or 5, just because it will be easier for her to read when she starts, when lilliah see's an "a" like that she asks what it is....great idea, maybe i'll steal it?
ReplyDeleteI like #1 and I think this is such an awesome idea...wish I would have thought of this when my kiddos were babies.
ReplyDelete2 and 4 are my favorites!
