2 Months Old

Paige had her two month old check-up last week! 

Here are the stats from that day..

age : 7 weeks & 1 day

weight : 10 lbs, 15 oz

height : 22 inches

cuteness factor on a scale of one to ten : eleven

She gained just under 4 pounds and grew an inch and a half, which puts her in the 70th percentile for weight and 50th for height. Dr. said they hoped all babies reach the 10 pound mark by two months.. Considering Paige passed that mark a whole week early by almost a pound, I'd say she's doing well! She even babbled a little to impress her pediatrician.

Everything was perfect-- then they pulled out two syringes and stabbed my poor baby in the leg.

I really don't know what hurt worse, her leg or my heart.

She let out such a hard cry that it went silent at the end and real tears rolled down her cheeks. The nurse must have known how it was for new mommies, she left quickly before she could see me cry and said "take your time" as she closed the office door. I held her tight and threw a blanket around her so I didn't have to torture her with getting dressed. She calmed down right away, but I was a wreck for the rest of the day.

I didn't know I'd react that way.

I'm usually pretty tough.

Even a little bit emotionless at times.

But this really threw me.

Yes, I'm getting choked up right now just thinking about it.

Her Daffy Duck band-aids. They look so big on her tiny little thigh!

Just a few short hours later, kicking and laughing at her toys

(while I was still trying to pull myself together).

And here comes the "Two Months Old" photo..
